Brussels: Belgian authorities say 13 have been detained in Belgium and two arrested in France in an anti-terror operation.
Earlier on Friday Belgian police storm on a suspected terrorist hideout in the eastern city of Verviers, killing two suspects and wounding and arresting a third.
A spokesman told a news conference there was still no apparent link to last week's Islamist attacks in Paris and the identities of two gunmen killed during one of the raids on Thursday, in the eastern town of Verviers, had yet to be confirmed.
No security officers were injured in the raids.
Belgium's terror alert level was raised to its second highest level following the operation.
The development comes after three days of attacks by Islamist extremists in Paris last week that killed 17 victims and sparked global protests.
