Jaipur/New Delhi: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf arrived in India on Saturday for a day-long pilgrimage.

Ashraf made a private visit to the shrine of a famous Sufi Muslim saint in India’s north-western state of Rajasthan.

According to officials, the visit was mean to be a purely religious trip, however, India’s External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid did try to woo the visiting dignitary by hosting a luncheon for him.

Ashraf’s visit comes around two months after ceasefire violations on the Line of Control that led to the heightened tensions between the two neighbors.
