London 2012: Indian grappler Sushil Kumar wins silver, loses final

London/New Delhi: Indian grappler Sushil Kumar today won the Silver medal in 66 Kg. freestyle wrestling category in London Olympics.

Kumar, who plays for Indian Railways, won the medal after losing the final to Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu of Japan. He had entered the final by beating Kazakhastan's Akzhurek Tanatarov in the semifinal.

Indian Minister of Railways Mukul Roy has announced a cash award of Rs. 75 lakh to the wrestler.

In a statement issued to the press, the Minister said that Kumar brought glory to the nation and has done Indian Railways proud.
