Moscow: On July 17, a meeting is scheduled to held in Moscow between Vladimir Putin and Special Envoy for the United Nations and the League of Arab States for Syria, Kofi Annan, who will be visiting Russia on July 16-17.

This is the Special Envoy’s second visit to Moscow in four months.

During the upcoming meeting, the Russian side plans to once again confirm its support for Kofi Annan’s peaceful plan for a political and diplomatic settlement of the crisis in Syria.

Russia believes that this plan is the “only viable platform” for resolving Syria’s internal problems.
