Cairo: Amid rising tensions over who will succeed ousted president Hosni Mubarak, Egypt's Election Commission has delayed declaring a winner in the country's presidential election.
Both candidates, Muhammad Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood and former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafik, have claimed victory in last week’s run-off.
The final results were expected on June 20, but the election commission said it wanted to review hundreds of allegations of election fraud.
The Muslim Brotherhood claims that their candidate Morsi has won 52 percent of the vote. Shafik's supporters says he won 51.5 percent.
