Baghdad: Kurdish military officials in northern Iraq said at least 350 people from the minority Yazidi group have been released from captivity by the Islamic State (IS) militant group.
Most of those released were elderly, disabled, or ill, and included several infants with serious illnesses.
The militants transported them from the northern town of Tal Afar, where they were being held for the past five months.
IS militants attacked Yazidis in northwest Iraq last summer, killing or capturing and enslaving thousands of the minority group.
The militants dropped off the group on January 18 at the Khazer Bridge, near the Kurdish regional capital of Irbil.
They are now being held by Kurdish authorities for questioning.
