Hyderabad/New Delhi: At least 11 people were killed and 50 others wounded on
Thursday when two powerful blasts rocked a busy commercial hub of southern
Indian city of Hyderabad.
As per media reports, the explosions took place near a
cinema theatre.
The incident, which triggered shortly after 7pm local time,
resulted in a stampede-like situation with people running hither and thither
for their safety.
Back in New Delhi, Indian Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde
briefed the press persons about the blasts.
“Eight people have died in first blast and three others get
killed in the other. Fifty people were injured in the incident,” Shinde said.
The Home Minister also said that his department had some
intelligence inputs about a possible terror attack but did not have any
specific information.
Meanwhile, officials
of Intelligence Bureau and National Investigation Agency have been rushed to
the spot for further investigation.
