Lyon: Art theft affects developed and developing countries alike. The illicit traffic in cultural heritage is a transnational crime that affects the countries of origin, transit and final destination.

A global crime fighting organisation called Interpol maintains a special cell dedicated to investigating thefts of this nature and recovering stolen art works.

We have compiled a list of some well-known cultural objects that have been stolen in 2011-12 and have not yet been recovered……..and they are on Interpol’s list of ‘most wanted’ works of art.

*If you have any information about any of the above listed stolen works of art, please inform your local police who will contact their Interpol National Crime Bureau.
