Three Indian Navy personnel killed in chopper crash

New Delhi/Panaji: Three Indian Navy personnel were today killed in a Chetak helicopter crash while landing at Dabolim naval air station in Goa.


As per Naval spokesperson, the crash took place at about 1000 hours. The helicopter on transit from Mumbai to Bangalore was to make a scheduled re-fuelling halt at Goa.

Reportedly, the rotor the helicopter broke while landing. A board of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the causes behind the mishap.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) owns the licence to build ‘Alouette IIIs’ as the HAL Chetak in India.
