India: Negotiation with China over border row, security in final stage, says Antony

New Delhi: Negotiation and dialogue over border row, defence and security are in the final stage, Indian defence minister said on Monday.

“Border dispute is still unresolved, inspite of the fact that many rounds of negotiations have taken place. Of course, it (the negotiations) is in the final stage," said Antony while speaking on the sidelines of a function on the annual day of defence accounts department (DAD) here in New Delhi.

Antony, however did not elaborate the progress in these talks.

The special representatives of the two countries have held 15 rounds of talks so far alternatively in New Delhi and Beijing.

The Defence Minister also called upon the financial managers of his ministry not to bypass ‘laid down rules and procedures’ on the ruse of speedier decision making.

The Defence Minister also launched two IT projects developed in-house by the Department, namely ‘Pension Sanction Project’ and ‘Project SUGAM’. On this occasion Raksha Mantri awards for excellence were also presented by Antony to selected employees for their outstanding contribution during 2011-12.
