Manila: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has been selected as a
winner of the prestigious 2012 Asian Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE)
award, in recognition of its work to devise knowledge-based products, services,
and solutions for development in the region.
"Knowledge propels development forward and enhances its
effects. To achieve benefits for the poor in Asia and the Pacific, ADB's
corporate strategy mandates our organization to develop, disseminate, and apply
knowledge solutions,” said Seethapathy Chander, Director General of ADB’s
Regional and Sustainable Development Department. “I am very pleased that, for
two consecutive years, the priority that ADB is giving to knowledge solutions
has been recognized on the international scene."
ADB was among 26 Asian MAKE winners. The MAKE panel
comprised Asian-based Fortune 500 senior executives and leading knowledge
management experts. Winners were selected
based on eight key knowledge performance indicators, including creating
a learning organization, innovation, ability to develop knowledge workers
through senior management leadership, and having an enterprise knowledge-driven
culture.
This is the second time ADB was selected as an Asian MAKE
winner, after having won the same award in 2011. The prize was presented
yesterday at the 13th World Knowledge Forum in Seoul, Republic of Korea, by
Teleos, a knowledge management and intellectual capital research firm, in
association with the KNOW Network, a web-based global community of
organizations dedicated to achieving superior performance through networking,
benchmarking, and sharing best knowledge practices.
