New Delhi: Fourteen months after he was chased away from Ramlila Maidan here in a midnight police swoop, yoga guru Baba Ramdev is all set to return the same venue on Thursday to evoke the nation to join the massive stir in his another round of protest to cogently demand black money stashed abroad.
Ramdev is also expected to turn his focus from black money issue to Lokpal Bill, making CBI independent and a more transparent procedure for appointing Election Commissioners, CAG, CVC and CBI Director.
Though Hzare had promised Ramdev that he would be present on the dais he is unlikely to attend the 'launch session' on Thursday as one of his aides said “as of now there is no plans” to come to Delhi soon.
Ramdev’s supporter and the people of Bharat Swabhiman Trust were expected to start their day as early as possible. Thousands of people from Assam, Nagaland, Jharkahand, Orissa, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh with many other states are continue to throng to Ramlila Maidan since Wednesday evening.
As per the sources information, Ramdev has left Ahmedabad at 6 am and will be there in Delhi at 8.15am. He has scheduled first to visit Rajghat and Shahidi Park to pay his tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, and expected to arrive at Ramlila Maidan at 9.30am in a procession. Ramdev is likely to address the gathering and declare the nature of the protest at 10am.
Notably, the protest has been timed with Janmashtami, Independence Day and Eid. The situation has set police on alert.
