Pune: Launching fresh attack on the UPA government over the issue of rampant corruption, black money and proposed Jan-lokpal, anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare and yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Tuesday said they will support each other in their fight against corruption.

Ramdev said he will launch a nationwide agitation in demand of strong action against corruption from August 9 at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi.

Ramdev said people have been waiting for a strong Lokpal and bringing back black money for over a year but the "government has time and again hoodwinked public".

On his part Anna said, "Ramdev is fighting to bring back black money. We are demanding a strong Lokpal to fight corruption. But the government has neither any intention to do so and nor they have the will power."

"Why efforts are not being taken to bring black money stashed abroad? There may be people in government who have hidden black money. This may be the reason. What is preventing them from taking action?" Anna questioned while addressing presser.

"Government has betrayed the people on Lokpal," Hazare said while addressing a joint press conference with Ramdev on Tuesday.

Supporting Ramdev, Anna said: "We will fight together."

Notably, team Anna will launch an indefinite protest at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar from July 25.

Team Anna is protesting against the union government for purportedly failing to act on corruption and failing to enact the anti-corruption Lokpal Bill.
