New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday ruled that veteran Congress leader ND Tiwari is the biological father of Rohit Shekhar while declaring the much-awaited DNA results.
Earlier today, the court had rejected 87-year-old Tiwari’s plea to keep report of his DNA test confidential.
Notably, in 2008, Rohit Shekhar, filed a paternity suit claiming Tiwari to be his biological father. Court ordered that DNA mapping of ND Tiwari be done which Tiwari evaded and stalled for a long time untill May 29th 2012 when he was compelled to give his blood sample for DNA test.
The trial had grabbed many eyeballs across the country.
Born in 18 October, 1925, Tiwari was Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh three times during the 1970s and 1980s and was Chief Minister of Uttarkhand from 2002 to 2007. He had also served as Governor of Andhra Pradesh from 2007 until 2009.
