Mumbai: One person died
and at least six others were injured as a small section of the Easter
expressway flyover collapsed in
Shanti Nagar in Wadala on Thursday.
As per the primary information
the mishap took place at around 10:45 pm.
Workers at the
construction site were launching a girder on the under-construction elevated
road when it collapsed, trapping several labourers in the debris. A truck,
parked underneath the flyover, was completely smashed.
Officials
attached to the Wadala Truck Terminal police station said the injured were
rushed to Sion Hospital and KEM Hospital, with three of the six being
grievously injured.
