Greenpeace activists protest against KFC

Friday, May 25, 2012

Louisville: Greenpeace activists hanged a giant banner on the headquarters of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) to highlight the company's alleged role in the destruction of Indonesia's rainforests.

A recent Greenpeace investigation shows that KFC is using pulp and paper in its packaging which has been produced on plantations that have replaced peatland rainforest in Indonesia.

Such ecosystems are the habitat of the critically endangered Sumatran tiger.
